Today’s the DAY!!

If you are in Cincinnati, tune in to Fox 19 Morning Xtra from 9-11 am!

What an amazing opportunity! Organize 365 and Fox 19 have teamed up to giveaway a kitchen organization session. Yesterday, I told you how I picked the kitchen to makeover .

Today, I am going to share with you my favorite kitchen organization products.

Wednesday – the Great Kitchen Reveal. If you don’t live in Cincinnati and can’t see it live, I will have it all for you on Wednesday!

Thursday – The momentum of organization

My favorite kitchen organization products

I feel like I am becoming a minimalist. I am de-cluttering and donating stuff weekly at my house. Just when I think there isn’t more to donate, I find more.

So, I rarely share products to BUY for organization for a few reasons.

#1 You usually do not need to buy organizers and can use what you have on hand.

#2 Not all organizers work for all situations.

However, there are a few rooms where I do usually suggest buying products: the kitchen, the closet, the garage and for paper storage.

In the TV show today, I am tackling the hardest to organize spaces in the kitchen. Here are the products I am using.

On TV, we are tackling the large corner cabinet and installing 18 inch lazy susans. I LOVE this idea and do it in any kitchen that I can. It maximizes that space perfectly!

I also have a large lazy susan in my refrigerator

a small one in my pantry and

on the tops of most cabinets.

I move kitchen shelves up and down all the time. But sometimes you need an EXTRA shelf or you can’t move the shelves. That is when this expandable shelf comes in handy.

In my kitchen, I have 2 cheaper shelves, but I really like the weight and sturdiness of this shelf from York .

They are great for storing bins underneath or cans.

You can have your choice of bins when organizing kitchens, but I have found these 2 types to be best.

Premium clear bins in all sizes and divisions work great in kitchens each for their own function, but they can be pricey at $8-20 apiece. I have slowly added a piece or two every few months to my kitchen and have about 10 pieces. They are NICE!

Here are some ways I have used premium bins.

For larger items and smaller budgets, I like these handled bins .

Here is a great example of how I used them in a kitchen similar to what I will do on today’s show.

And I got a bigger size for under the kitchen sink, too.

Are there bins that don’t work? YES! Plastic shoeboxes do NOT work. A standard kitchen cabinet only has a 10.5 inch clearance for a container. Any container with a lip on it will cause your door to stay open.

Over the door items

This is a great way to add space and put under cabinet items within arm’s reach!

Here’s how to pick your containers:

#1 Declutter your space first.

#2 PLAN where your stuff is going to go.

#3 Determine how much you can financially budget for this project.

#4 Measure and purchase.

Remember, containers do not organize…YOU do. So do the hard work of decluttering FIRST and THEN purchase!

A special thank you to The Container Store for donating ALL the items used on today’s TV show to the makeover winner family!

So, what about you? What has been your favorite organizer you have purchased for the kitchen?
