#SuperSonic SC-1568D Review 2015

The SuperSonic SC-15686 is perfect for people who don t have a lot of space. The compact design of this kitchen TV includes a digital tuner and a DVD player. It also has a very impressive display resolution and brightness level. However, it doesn t seem to have an analog tuner or a tuner for cable television, and the aspect ratio is a little off. Nonetheless, this is still one of the best kitchen televisions we reviewed, and earns our TopTenREVIEWS Bronze Award.

This 15.6-inch widescreen HD LCD TV comes with a built-in DVD player. The ASTC tuner will ensure that you get all the digital channels that are available to you. However, this model doesn t seem to have an NTSC tuner or a QAM tuner, which are found in almost all the other kitchen TVs in our review. If you only plan on using digital television signals and DVDs, then this shouldn t be a problem for you, but it may deter some consumers.

Another thing that may bother some users is the 16:10 aspect ratio. Most widescreen TV programs are broadcast in 16:9, so the picture won t look quite right when it s displaying in 16:10. We tried to see if there was a way to adjust the aspect ratio, but the manufacturer s website was not very informative and they did not offer an online manual.

The SuperSonic SC-15686 has a stunning display resolution of 1680 x 1050. This is the highest resolution we found in our review. More pixels on the screen means crisper, clearer images. There was no response time specified by the manufacturer, so we don t know how well the pixels react to change and movement.

Brightness is measured in candela per square meters. This is a measurement of how much energy/light the pixels can produce. This SuperSonic kitchen TV has a brightness of 300 cd/m2, which is, once again, one of the best brightness levels of the models we reviewed. This means that you ll be able to see the image on the screen even in a brightly lit room.

Being 15.5 inches wide and 13 inches high makes this one of the bigger kitchen TVs on the site. In addition, it uses a maximum of 60 watts of power when in operation which is more than many other models we reviewed. It seems as if the better screen resolution and brightness come with the price of using more power.

Another area in which this kitchen TV excels is connectivity. This unit has a number of input terminals that will enable you to connect it to various multimedia sources. There is an HDMI port for high-definition, a VGA input for connecting a computer to your television, component video and audio jacks, an S-Video input, a headphone jack and an RF coaxial connection for an antenna. You can also play media on this countertop TV from a USB drive or an SD card.
