#Kitchen Sinks: Easy-Clean, Surprisingly Affordable Ceramic

You get a lot for the price with ceramic sinks, and they're available everywhere. See the pros and cons here

I've yet to choose the sinks for a kitchen now under construction, and my experience is with quality branded enameled cast iron and stainless drop-ins. My newest (a pricey 14 year-old) stainless kitchen sink has tiny bits of rust in the brushed finish. They're not easily seen but visible to us, and bothersome. I've never had an under-mount sink and wonder what that mounting means in practical terms re: changing out a damaged sink in the future.

While drop-ins are easy and familiar, the mounting plate can permit water seepage and a breach can remain undetected thus uncorrected until secondary issues arise.

Does anyone have personal and positive experience with alternatives such as the Blanco product Siigranite?

Are there do's, don'ts or horrors to post re: undermounts?

A kitchen sink is likely the most-used kitchen appliance, so function has to trump (gulp) aesthetic. But of course the aesthetic has to meet the bar/standards of the rest of the space.

This is an important decision and I feel rather stuck in the due diligence phase. Thanks in advance for Houzzer input.
