My wife was born in Italy, and that means we eat lots of pasta (more if I could get it).

We started planting tomatoes in our home garden years ago and freezing them to make sauce when needed. This year we decided to get back to her 'roots' and put them in jars. After thinking about stand-alone machines, we decided to buy the attachment for our KitchenAid Blender - one less motor, quieter, less stuff on the pantry shelf, cheaper, etc. Good decision. We did all of our garden produce from this fall, about 3 bushels of tomatoes. The mistake I made was growing salad or eating tomatoes, which are full of juice and take longer to cook down. We bought 2 more bushels from a local farm stand, but this time bought Roma or plum tomatoes. Better choice. Next year, that is what I will grow.

I agree with others about the hopper being too small, but it might be that a larger hopper might result in more clogging.

In all, a well designed product, which works as expected.
