#The Most Impressive Kitchen Island Ever: The Mise en Place Work Table Mise en place ("putting in place" or "set in place") is a cooking habit you've undoubtedly heard of, and may even implement. But what if I told you it was also the guiding concept behind the fanciest kitchen island we've ever seen? The 'Mise en Place' Work Table, billed as an "all-encompassing chefs work table" has a place for everything, and everything in its place. Here's what it includes: Designed by chef Liam Tomlin for Cape Town's Chefs Warehouse and Cookery School. the Mise en Place table comes with built-in cutting boards, removable cheese boards, knife and glass holders, a wine rack, an extendable 'hot pot' stand, and specially fitted storage drawers and shelves for knives and all the rest of your tools and equipment. Want to add a sink or gas line? No problem. You can have it custom made to your specifications. Are you an avid bread baker or pastry chef? Chefs Warehouse is also working on tables tailored to those passions. No word on the website as to how much it costs, but I'm guessing it's a pretty, pretty penny! What do you think? Awesome, or over-designed? I don't always love concept-y stuff like this, but in this case I'll admit it. I kind of want one!
