#Gemini and Virgo Don t Have Many Compatible Traits

Obviously, the Air sign and the Earth one don t have lots of things in common. From birth, Gemini loves freedom, new adventure, and social activity. Hence, the Gemini woman is at her utmost condition when being a social butterfly rather than a housewife. Rarely refusing to join in the new exploration within social spot, Gemini tends to scatter her energy in too many places to have specific focus. Sometimes, she is too busy with her friends to spend time caring her man. That may make the Virgo man crazy and jealous on a regular basis.

Additionally, while the Gemini lady wants to be outstanding in the circle of folks, the Virgo gentleman tends to be shy in his solitude. Instead, he prefers to analyze others with extreme criticism. Of course, he doesn t have good impression over all of the Gemini s friends. Therefore, he is most likely to refuse to join in her party with such folks, occasiona ... Read more »

#10 Easy Pieces: Best Budget Kitchen Faucets: Remodelista

Quality counts when it comes to choosing the most in-demand fitting in the kitchen. For durability, look for faucets that are made of brass, and don't ignore what's under the hood. It's important that the innards have ceramic parts for long-lasting, dripless functioning.

Some tips to keep cost in check: Select a chrome finish (it's the most affordable), skip the sprayer option (you can live without it), and consider two-handled faucets—they're often less expensive than single-handled designs. Also pay attention to warranties both for your own protection and as an indicator of manufacturer quality.

Here, our pick of 10 faucets that combine affordability with quality.

#10 Cheap, Renter-Friendly Improvements for Small Kitchens

From the Archives: Greatest Hits

All the small space goodness from last month inspired me to make some tweaks and additions to make my small Brooklyn kitchen more serviceable and user-friendly (especially since I am its primary user). The changes are affordable, renter-friendly and, hopefully, helpful to some of you simmering and sautéing away in your own small kitchens.

1. Over-the-Stove Cutting Board: small kitchens are a challenge not just for storing things but for actually cooking. To gain a bit more usable counter space I purchased this bamboo cutting board that fits across two burners. If you don't use your stove much you could leave it there most of them time. Or, of course, you can just bring it out when you need more surface area to work on. I used it for an easier quesadilla assembly line recently and it was a great improvement. If you're curious, the one I have is by Lipper Inter ... Read more »

#10 Decorating Ideas For A Coastal Kitchen

Now that summer is here, we are all dreaming about the beach. Whether you live at the coast and can actually enjoy the warm weather or just love beach style, this fresh-as-a-summer-breeze look can make just about any kitchen feel a bit closer to the sea. From remodeling projects (hello, aqua appliances!) to smaller accents (striped bar stools) see which of these 10 ideas would be at home in your kitchen.

1. Striped stools. You can’t get much more classic coastal than blue and white stripes — pull up to your island a set of bar stools upholstered in striped fabric for a quick kitchen update. If you’re worried about spills and stains in this high-traffic zone, choose a stain-resistant indoor-outdoor fabric for easier cleanup.

2. Aqua appliances. Who says appliances have to be boring? Colorful vintage-inspired new appliances make a bold (and very fun) statement. Aqua and turquoise are beachy hues that look great ... Read more »

#Make a Roll-Away Kitchen Island

This island kitchen can serve a functional purpose, especially when it's on a roll.

While this particular island may not be perfect for your kitchen, you can get ideas by searching on the Internet or by looking through magazines.

Materials and Tools:

wood glue

nails

Steps:

1. Put on a dust mask and safety glasses and cut the plywood pieces using a table saw. Cut the pieces for the top, bottom and sides. These pieces will form the frame of the unit. Cut the wood with the finished side up to help prevent splintering.

2. Make the initial rip cuts with the table saw, and then use a circular saw to cut pieces to length. In this project, the sides measure 32-1/4-inches in height and the top and bottom measure 44.1/2-inches long. Make sure that the long edges of these pieces are straight.

3. Rip the solid maple 1x6s to a 2-inch width using the table saw. These pieces will be used to create ... Read more »

Top 20 DIY Kitchen Backsplash Ideas

While your backsplash might stain, the materials it is made from will be very easy to clean and maintain.

The first project on our list features a wonderful rustic backsplash made from the reclaimed wood of old shipping pallets. You can see this backsplash is a great DIY project opportunity for your kitchen because it uses inexpensive materials to create great looking results. Pull-Down vs Pull-Out, Which Is Better? - Best Rated Kitchen Faucets

Which type of faucet is better, a pull-down model or a pull-out?

Of course, you ll guess at once that there s no answer to that question. It all depends on the model, its unique features, and most of all personal preference. But there are differences that can make one over the other a better choice for you.

Both pull-out and pull-down faucets have a basic similarity.

Each will (partly) detach from the main faucet to allow you to move a spray head around for easier cleaning and filling of pots, pitchers, and other containers. I say partly because the head is still connected to the system by a hose. I ll discuss that in detail later; it turns out to have important features to help you select one style over the other.

The similarities can go further.

The type of spray control might be the same, for example. Some will have a button you have to continually depress to keep the wat ... Read more »

#10 Pretty Ways to Keep Your Countertop Organized

Whether you have a lot of workspace in your kitchen, or just a little, keeping your countertop neat and organized is paramount. It's just too easy to leave a jar of peanut butter or a bottle of honey out, push it back into the corner, stack up a few cans for a meal you're going to make tomorrow — and before you know it counter creep leaves you with nowhere to work.

What lives out on your countertop all the time? For me, it's salt, pepper, olive oil, sugar, garlic and shallots. You can see above how I corral and elevate those ingredients with a footed board and a vintage pastry stand. They keep things out of the way, and make cleaning the counter easier (just nudge the board over a bit to wipe underneath).

Here are a few more examples of how creating a cooking zone like this can work. It also is a way of adding another decorative element to your kitchen!

    #Series description

    Series?!

    How do series work?

To create a series or add a work to it, go to a "work" page. The "Common Knowledge" section now includes a "Series" field. Enter the name of the series to add the book to it.

Works can belong to more than one series. In some cases, as with Chronicles of Narnia. disagreements about order necessitate the creation of more than one series .

Tip: If the series has an order, add a number or other descriptor in parenthesis after the series title (eg. "Chronicles of Prydain (book 1)"). By default, it sorts by the number, or alphabetically if there is no number. If you want to force a particular order, use the | character to divide the number and the descriptor. So, "(0|prequel)" sorts by 0 under the label "prequel."

    What isn't a series?

Series was designed to cover groups of books generally understood as such (see Wikipedia: Book series ). Like many concepts in the book world, ... Read more »

#10 Stylish Kitchens with Stainless Steel Countertops

An interesting trend creeping into kitchen design lately is home kitchens that look a lot like commercial kitchens. Even if you're not ready to embrace the full-on restaurant look, you can inject a little bit of that industrial feel into your own space with stainless steel countertops.

Stainless steel countertops (as I discovered when putting together this post) are surprisingly versatile. They're perfect in a sleek, modern space, but can also add a little edge to a kitchen with more traditional styling. And if you're having trouble going all the way with one material, they also play nice with wood (images 8) and concrete (image 2) countertops.

The best thing about stainless steel countertops, though, has got to be their durability and ease of maintenance. (There's a reason they use them in restaurant kitchens.) They're easy to clean, heat resistant, and last practically forever. You can read more about stainless ... Read more »

    The rangehood range

We know from testing that ducted rangehoods are best these are the ones that suck out the odours to vent outside. But some of us won't have that option when we are looking to replace a broken one, or simply don't have the space for it. #Ask Dr. Math: FAQ

When I'm given a 'word problem', where do I start?

Start by understanding what the problem is asking. What is the exact question you need to answer? Next, figure out what information you already know, and what you need to know in order to answer the question.

    #kids ask #

Good questions are powerful things. Those with kids already know what I’m talking about. But I’ll share my story next on BreakPoint.

Recently as I walked in the front door from work, my five-year-old daughter Anna met me breathless and excited. She’d just watched a history video that my BreakPoint colleague Eric Metaxas had worked on.

I can tell you that Sarah and I weren’t laughing then! In fac ... Read more »

Reface Scotland has over 20 years of skills and experience in bedroom and kitchen transformations.
