Ask the Police Serving the Community - www.askthe.police.uk

West Yorkshire Police receive thousands of non-emergency calls each week from members of the public. Although important, these calls are, inevitably, time consuming and many of the questions were about routine aspects of the criminal law and police procedures.

PNLD (Police National Legal Database) launched and hosts the Ask the Police database which contains nationally consistent answers to the 750 of the most frequently asked questions posed to the police; it has no rival in the UK.

The public can access a wealth of useful information online at anytime to suit them. By accessing this free to view website the public can quickly and easily find the answers they need and are then empowered to decide what course of action they should take.

Ask the Police features a wide range of topics from what to do after a road accident to who to contact about rubbish being dumped in your neighbourhood. Visitors to the site can also ask a question by email.
