#How can I check my credit history and score?

There are many ways to order your credit report, such as by mail, phone, in person or online.

According to the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada. the easiest and safest methods are by mail and online. In most cases, except online, it is free to get a copy of your credit report.

By Mail

Print and fill out an application form below and mail it to the appropriate credit-reporting agency. Include a copy of 2 pieces of identification. such as a driver's license, utility bill, bank account statement. Together these combined pieces must have your name, current address, date of birth and signature. You will receive a report in the mail in about 2 weeks.

By Phone

Call the number below and follow the instructions. You will be asked to provide your Social Insurance Number or credit card number. You will receive a report in the mail in about 2 weeks.

In Person

TransUnion offers the possibility of submitting a credit report request in person. Go to the office below (this is the only office in Ontario) and fill out the application form they give you. Bring 2 pieces of identification. such as a driver's license, utility bill, bank account statement. Together these combined pieces must have your name, current address, date of birth and signature. You will receive your report in about 10-15 minutes.
