I agree that it has a sharp blade.

But was disappointed to find that due to the fact that the hinge on the adjustment is not in line with the angle of the blade, it does not produce slices evenly.

Looked at various options and decided I didn't want something to take up too much space, be too complicated to use or tricky to clean.

Very, very effective - and scarily sharp. Seriously, this would very easily take the top of a finger off if used without due care, and I certainly wouldn't let a child use it.

My only gripe is the variation in slice thickness. The thinnest setting is pretty much of no practical use - it skims/scrapes without delivering a usable slice. The thickest possible slice is what I'd imagine a thin/medium slice to be. a greater thickness range would be more useful.
