So I m talking to a neighbor and she says she had a kitchen counter installed (not by KTU) and she s very unhappy because instead of being flat it s wavy and goes up and down. That got me thinking back to the exactly opposite, wonderful experience I had with KTU tuning up my inherited 1960 s kitchen. With KTU it s a collaboration with folks who know what they re doing, and employ workmen who are on time and skillful. From initial consultation, to choice of materials, to installation, to follow-ups, the whole process (which can take a while) was professional and the results are exactly what I wanted. Beautiful kitchen: check.

We had used Kitchen Tune-Up back in 2009 when we bought and remodeled our house. They did a great job so when we decided to add on some cabinets and counter top this past summer we decided to go back to Kitchen Tune-Up.  It was much more difficult trying to schedule any of the work and were pigeon-holed into having to take time off work to get the cabinets installed otherwise we would have to wait three weeks until they were available. Plus who wants to deal with a barely functional kitchen for longer than need be.  We have a 9 month old and taking time off of work costs us money and isn t easy but we had no choice. We were told numerous times about all of these big jobs they had and felt like our job wasn t a priority because it wasn t a big re-do. We were still paying a lot of money so I shouldn t matter the size of the job.  They were supposed to finish the backsplash as part of the job. Morgan was great and chiseled out the old tile to make the new tile fit appropriately. We thought we had enough tile to finish the job but ended up only having cut pieces that we couldn t use. We owned up to the fact that we screwed up on not having enough tile and tried to re-schedule them to come out to finish the job. We set a time up and my husband took the afternoon off to be there. 15 minutes before they were supposed to show up Scott called m husband to cancel. My husband was obviously very upset as he took time off of work and Scott told him that was HIS problem.  Really.  We ve spent $10,000+ with your company and this is how you treat repeat customers.  My husband said we needs to re-schedule the job for a Saturday (not getting burned again!) and Scott wouldn t accommodate our schedule. We decided to cut ties at this point and I finished the tiling project.  I will NEVER recommend KTU to anyone after this recent experience.
