New Kitchen Costs - 2015 - Homewyse.com

Do you need an estimate of the cost to complete a typical kitchen in a newly framed home or home addition in your zip code. Do you need a fair, trustworthy and easy-to-understand 2015 estimate of material and labor costs for a new kitchen?

This estimate for a 2015 New Kitchen is derived from the unit cost method summarized in the American Institute of Architects Detailed Cost Estimating - Best Practices. This approach is used by professional designers, contractors, engineers and estimators and uses current wages, material costs, worker productivity benchmarks, supervisory overhead and markup rates. Labor hours include time for basic job planning, setup and site preparation, material handling, fabrication of installed materials, installation and cleanup. Labor costs for the new kitchen are based on United States Bureau of Labor Statistics Industry-Specific Employment and Wage Estimates - and adjusted for fair overhead, profit and as indicated, supervisory markup. The new kitchen estimate does not include sales taxes, permit fees or hazardous material remediation costs (e.g. mold, asbestos, lead). See the Material Costs summary page for other finish and fixture options. Homewyse cost estimates are "ballpark" ranges that should only be used for preliminary planning. Homewyse estimates are NOT substitutes for firm quotes from qualified vendors. Homewyse strongly recommends that you contact a reputable dealer/installer/designer for an accurate assessment of work required and costs for your project - before making any decisions or commitments. Supplies include fittings, adhesives, sealers, finishes and accesssories, as well as equipment costs and disposal fees required to complete the new kitchen as specified in the Project Options section. The elapsed time required to complete the new kitchen can be significantly longer than suggested by the total work hours. Expect that no more than 15 - 25 hrs of labor will be completed per typical work week. Unless specified in Project Options list, this new kitchen estimate does NOT include costs for relocating, repairing, modifying or enhancing existing structural, HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems. Estimate common structural and system modification costs with the Room Modifications Cost estimator.
