Meeting Your Needs With Ease

The course of life isn't always smooth, but Kitchen Art can help you soften the strain of the rough patches.  Case in point: the Breed family.

Jane and Steve Breed were beset with challenges when Steve suffered a stroke in 2007.  In order to best ease their transition into the lifestyle this commanded, a new handicap accessible bathroom was required.  This is where Kitchen Art of New England came in.

"They were very responsive to design stuff that was going to meet his needs," said Jane about Kitchen Art's planning. "Everyone who comes in my house is like, 'wow'.  Steve and I are both very happy with it.  It's much more convenient."

Unfortunately, we can't predict life's pitfalls.  What we can do, however, is work within your budget to create a functional, beautiful space that helps you live well.

Catering to the Individual

Older homes have such character.  Like people, each has a story, and each story requires careful attention.  We believe that in order to bring out the best in each home, we must investigate and consider the wishes of its owners and bring them to harmony with the house's original structure and design.

Such was the case with one Groton couple, who kindly said that "other kitchen designers we talked to. seemed to see it as a more generalized design challenge, and talked about what they'd do, how to convert our space into something grand. not about how we used the space and what we wanted. This isn't a grand space and imposing that kind of vision on this small country Victorian was not what we wanted. We wanted something appropriate to the house--simple and functional--and the great part of Kitchen Art's contribution was that we also got a beautiful, light space, where we used to have dark and crowded."

We know kitchens.  Our goal in each new project is to get to know you: your cooking habits, your style wishes, your functional goals.  Our work reflects not only our desire to give you a beautiful, timeless, and stylish home, but also one that works perfectly just for you.

Small Change Budget, Big Change Kitchen

Helen Kane-O'Connor was cooking from a dark place, literally.  For 20 years, she dreamed of creating a sparkling, light, and inviting kitchen without changing the footprint of her unique older home.  She hesitated for two reasons: a limited budget and a wariness of hiring strangers for such an important job.

We met in her kitchen the day after she called and were able to put her fears to bed.  Ideas were put in place to paint the cabinets for a cabinet facelift, install granite counters, and to add a beautiful hand cut tile backsplash and crystal hardware. This all came in under budget and we were even able to add new recessed and under cabinet lighting as well as wainscoting panels on the walls.  Meanwhile, we found creative uses of the existing layout that both maximized the space and enhanced the aura of the home as a whole.

Today, Helen delights in the kitchen of her dreams and we're flattered to hear her pleasure in the project. "This job was not too small for them," she said. "They've got huge projects, trophy kitchens, but they made me feel like my job was just as important.  Now I have my trophy kitchen."
