Galleries of Kitchen Design Ideas | eHow The Internet has become a nearly inexhaustible source of residential design ideas. Nowhere has this been more evident than for kitchen design. You can search for design ideas for any kind of kitchen--large, small, galley, big budget or no budget--or any design aspect that interests you. A search for "red kitchens," for example, brings up ideas and plans for dozens of red kitchens in a variety of styles. A search for "galleries of kitchen ideas" brings up galleries with hundreds of photos, many with designers' names and descriptions of design features, products and materials. You can view the 2010 National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) Award winners at Kitchens.com. Click on any of the photos for full-screen views of the winners and finalists in four categories--small, medium, large and open plan kitchens--and for before and after photos of the best remodel and for the best sustainable kitchen design. The kitchens shown vary in style from sleek, minimalist, contemporary designs to over-the-top eclectic mixing and matching of influences. The kitchens shown range from expensive to very expensive. Find photos of 26 low-cost kitchen-remodeling ideas at This Old House. Most of the photos illustrate products, but the design contexts have broader application. Products come from Ikea (20-inch Foto Pendant Lamps), Marmoleum (red linoleum floor squares), John Boos (custom butcher block counters), Crate and Barrel (ceiling pot rack) and elsewhere, with an emphasis on low-cost or mid-range products. A paragraph of explanatory text accompanies each photograph. From the "This Old House" page, you can click onto another gallery with photos of "28 Ways to Customize Your Kitchen for Less."
