Kitchen Kraft - Contractors - Brewery District - Columbus, OH - Reviews - Photos - Yelp I hired Kitchen Kraft to remodel my only bathroom in July 2014. I met with a designer who was very patient and asked a lot of questions about my needs. He put tougher a beautiful design which flowed with the rest of my home. Even though he created tons of storage my favorite feature is the glass tiled shower. It is my new favorite spot. The price was fair for the amount of work that was needed and all of pricing and contracts were clearly explained. Al Deen, the Bathroom remodel specialist visited my home and I explained the basic remodel project we wanted a bid on. The budget was thoroughly communicated - and that the project was going to be a basic remodel as we plan on selling the property in less than 1 year. I was very specific on the design I wanted, already having spent significant time researching material, fixture and labor costs as well as forecasting preliminary project man hour estimates. Our budget was determined to be accurate (+-20%) in gathering quotes from other reputable sources. We met 10 days later to review the design and materials. I was disappointed to discover that little of my input was taken into consideration, and the pitch was 190% over budget, using near top tier materials, and relocating most of the plumbing - which the design I outlined did not necessitate. This was a waste of both my wife and I s time. As we were meeting, I did a quick 10 second search on my phone for one of the fixtures he was displaying and was surprised to find I could order the same model myself for a significantly lower price. When I told Al we were too far apart to make a further progress, he quickly cut the estimate by 25%, which was still over budget and makes the consumer very distrustful of the accuracy of the estimate. Although he wouldn t reveal the line item breakdown of the estimate, he did mention $1,200 for obtaining permits, which I know to cost $200 (Published on Franklin County fee schedule sheet). Even 100% markup would have been acceptable on Permits, but 600% mark up WILL quickly earn Kitchen Kraft the reputation of being crooks. Consumers have the right to know exactly what they are paying for. I am choosing to stay away from this company - there are many other more trustworthy remodeling contractors offering better value to consumers. Was this review ?
