Founded in 1978, our company has built a reputation for innovative design and friendly, personal assistance. We provide years of knowledge and expertise and work with homeowners and contractors to create personalized kitchens and baths.

A kitchen is so much more than just cabinets. Designing a great layout that maximizes function and storage is the cornerstone of a project. Next is choosing cabinet style, door style, wood type, and finish color. The decisions don t stop there. The counter top material, color, and edge detail, the type of sink, appliances, faucets, hardware, ceiling lights, under cabinet lights, back splash, flooring, and the list goes on.

The designers at The Kitchen Collection are well aware of all these details and choices. We work with our clients from the early planning stages until the final detail is finished. We take the time to get to know you, your likes and dislikes, how you cook and entertain, and then help you ... Read more »

#Compact kitchen folds up and goes away when you don - t need it: TreeHugger

It's hard, getting a lot of kitchen into a small space. It's also nice if the kitchen sort of goes away when you are not using it so that the room can be used for something else. Croatian designer and manufacturer Dizzconcept has come up with a neat design where the entire kitchen sits behind folding doors that are six inches deep and happen to have a whole lot of storage built into the inside. Open it up and you can see everything.

This model has a TV in the door when you are in living room mode;

#The Kitchen Designer

My colleague, Laurie Laizure, founder of the Google+ Community: Interior Design Community sees products, talks to manufacturers, designers and others in the design community every day and one of those products is concrete, which we see used in so many different ways in home design. Laurie has shared with me that she has a "thing" for concrete, and here are her thoughts on this interesting material. Thanks for your insights on concrete, Laurie!

In Laurie's words.

I have a confession. Born and raised in New Hampshire (also known as The Granite State), it feels a little wrong admitting this, but I am not a fan of granite countertops and never have been. Even though there are many colors and patterns available in granite, the look is often a bit busy. I ve recently been researching concrete countertops on Concrete Network. which has loads of amazing design ideas, and everything you need to know about concrete countertops.

#The Kitchen Design Center - 33 Photos - Kitchen & Bath - La Habra, CA - Reviews

Recommended Reviews

Steve, we can t thank you enough for catching the major  problems with the beam, post connections, etc.  You saw in just a few short minutes what the architect, CAD man, engineer, City, two contractors missed!  We are so pleased that you caught this before we starting construction.  Our draftsman and engineer are changing the plans to take back to the City for approval.

What s so great about the Kitchen Design Center is that it s owner, Steve Quinn, is a licensed contractor who knows his stuff.  Not only does he craft beautiful kitchens with function and form, but he s a wiz at all things construction.

On an inspection for my house for some prospective cabinet work, I noted to Steve that I had a leak under my foundation, and that a plumber told me I d have to rip up my patio and run a new line to the street to the tune of about $1400.  That ... Read more »

#Commercial Kitchens - Jefferson County

Commercial kitchens provide a location for artisans, chefs and farmers to safely and legally process food. A commercial kitchen may provide a community with: an increase in the variety of local food products, job creation, and the capability for farmers to add value to their raw products. But because of the many legal barriers (enforced by the county and the state) to certifying a kitchen as commercial, commercial kitchens are often few and far between.

For more information about certified commercial kitchens, visit the Jefferson County Public Health Department click here. Below are the commercial kitchens most likely to meet the needs of artisans, chefs, and farmers for small-scale food processing in Jefferson County. #The Kitchen Sink - Home of the Unique Sandwiches

Home of the Unique Sandwiches

American Food w/Cajun Twist

Patio open also now serving Alcohol

The Kitchen Sink is a family owned / family diner restaurant. The name means just what it implies, everything is on the menu but "The Kitchen Sink". The food is Creole, New Orleans style cooking. It's a little spicy, a little different highly seasoned. For someone who has never had this type of cooking, The Kitchen Sink would be a very good place to start. They would have some nice choices and a variety of items to choose from.

The Crab Cake Benie is a steal! The best part about this new-ish diner: Only a handful of dishes on the menu cost more than a Hamilton, so even if crab's not your thing, the options for fare that won't squeeze your wallet are seemingly endless.

#The Kitchen Pantry Scientist

For some serious outdoor fun, try a little rocket science and parachute engineering.

NASA works hard designing new parachutes to slow the descent of spacecraft so they aren’t damaged when they land on distant planets. It can be tricky, since parachutes depend on air resistance to slow the descent of their loads, and many planets have very little atmosphere.

Here on Earth, you can design and test parachutes for our terrestrial atmosphere using produce bags, glue dots and string attached to a water rocket, to see what works best! Click here for detailed instructions on making a water rocket!

You ll need a bike pump, an empty 1L plastic bottle, a cork that fits the bottle, cut in half, an inflation needle, lightweight plastic bags, like produce bags, string or twine, and glue dots (optional)

1. Make a water rocket. Directions for assembling the rocket are here:  http://kitchenpantryscientist.com/sim ... Read more »

#The Kitchen Design Decisions That Drive Our Readers Crazy

This kitchen violates not one but FOUR reader rules. Can you guess what they are?*

In my many years covering kitchen design and organization for The Kitchn, I've incited my fair share of reader outrage at some of the kitchen designs we've showcased on the site. From white subway tile — you love it or you hate it, and if you hate it, you really hate it — to rugs in the kitchen (cozy or a hazard?), some features just really rile readers up, but none quite as much as the following five.

1. Open kitchen shelving.

Your chief complaint: The dust! The grease! The grime! Ugh, everything must get so dirty. And it always looks messy and cluttered. Anyone who has open shelving clearly isn't a real cook, because if they were, they wouldn't be able to put up with all the maintenance. You hate it, you say, and would take your closed kitchen cabinets any day of ... Read more »

#The Latest in Kitchen Flooring - New Flooring Ideas For Your Kitchen - Kitchen Floor Help

Get inspired by these new flooring products being used for kitchens

There are more options than ever for your kitchen floor. Beyond following the basic rule of using finishes that repel moisture rather than absorb it, you nearly have free reign as to the type of flooring you choose. Here is a rundown of the more popular kitchen flooring possibilities:

Bamboo

Craftsman II Long Plank Bamboo Flooring by Teragren

Bamboo is a grass, not a wood; nevertheless, it is still considered a type of hardwood flooring. In look and function, it is very similar to traditional hardwood flooring, with the considerable added benefit that the bamboo plant is a fast replenishing resource.

TIP. Reclaimed lumber is another great " green " alternative. It has a lovely patina that can only be acquired through age, and you have the ... Read more »

#The Kitchen Warehouse - 28 Photos - Kitchen & Bath - Arlington Heights - Los Angeles, CA - Reviews

I love Sheila! She is a great kitchen designer. I have an old kitchen with a lot of weird corners. I also wanted all my appliances to be fully integrated, so everything has to be precise to the specs. Sheila is very familiar with custom panels and integrated appliances. She was able to help me design my kitchen to fit my space and fit all my built in appliances. She is very attention to details. Too bad that my project got postponed and I didn t end up buying cabinet from this place. But I m considering this place for my future project.

I called this place to get an idea of how they work and it s obvious that they are an over-glorified Home Depot for cabinets. Their customer service is terrible and it seems that I know more about cabinetry then the person who answered the phone. I m not stepping foot in this place. ... Read more »

Humid Out There? The Antidote

July 22, 2015

I think it s because of wicked old El Nino, but we are having mighty weird weather this summer in the Rockies. We seem to be stuck with two extremes: stormy and rainy or blaringly, stickily hot. We Rocky Mountain dwellers aren t used to humidity; we re an arid climate normally almost desert-like. We re the land of chapped lips and bloody noses and scratchy eyeballs.

This summer, we re the land of heavy, wet air. And mosquitoes. Lord, the mosquitoes. Usually, we are so spoiled with our measly mosquito population. Skeeters thrive on wet spring weather, and usually, that means that they don t hang around here. It s awesome. When people on the coasts or in the South complain about being eaten alive, we cluck sympathetically and feel slyly superior. We live in the right place.

Not this year, friends and neighbors. We have some thirsty bloodsuckers out there and it freaks me out on several le ... Read more »
