KitchenAid Dishwasher Troubleshooting (3 Steps) | eHow

Check the electrical connection to your dishwasher. KitchenAid dishwasher models are hardwired into the electrical system of your home during installation. Check the main circuit box to see if you've blown a fuse or tripped a circuit breaker. Both of these can cause your KitchenAid dishwasher to stop working altogether.

Turn on the water in your home. KitchenAid dishwashers during installation are connected to a nearby water line input in your kitchen using a special type of tubing. Having your water shut off or developing a problem with your home's water line can stop the dishwasher from getting the water it needs. Also check the water connection itself and verify it's securely connected to both the back of the KitchenAid dishwasher and to the water line in your kitchen.

Clean out your KitchenAid dishwasher's internal filters. These filters are accessible while the KitchenAid dishwasher door is open through the bottom of the device. As your KitchenAid dishwasher cleans your dishes, excess food particles build-up inside these filters. Once filled, the food particles will made it harder for your dishwasher to properly clean your dishes until cleaned or replaced.
