How to Run On-Board Diagnostics on a Kitchen Aid Dishwasher | eHow Look to the front of the dishwasher and look for the "Rinse" and the "Light/China," or a light by the "Quick Clean" text. If your dishwasher is flashing red on these lights, you have a problem with your temperature sensor. This is used to regulate the temperature of the water on the inside of your unit while cleaning. Get a service technician to replace the temperature sensor on the inside of your dishwasher. Look on the display of your dishwasher. If you have a red light by the "Light/China" text, you have a problem with either your motor, flood switch or electronics. This requires immediate service and you will need a KitchenAid technician to replace the malfunctioning components on your unit. Look on the front of the display for red lights next to the "Rinse" or the "Heavy" text. This indicates that something is blocking your spray arm. Open the dishwasher and pull any dishes or silverware that have slipped through the dish tray out of the spray arm's path. Close the dishwasher and resume the cycle. Go to the display and press the "Heated Dry" button. Press the "Normal" button and then press the "Heated Dry" button. Press the "Normal" button again to reset the dishwasher.
