8407 Kitchen Bar - American (New) - Silver Spring, MD - Reviews - Photos - Menu - Yelp

This is a cute little place right around the corner from Silver Spring metro parking, and right up the hill from the metro itself.

The space is small, but they ve designed it very well. The atmosphere in combination with the layout gives you a cozy, comfortable feeling. There are lots of tables and probably 10 seats at the bar.

As is unfortunately common with DC area restaurants, the restrooms are not heated. It must be expensive to heat the smallest room in the building. I don t know. Restrooms are clean but cold.

Food here is presented well, and the french fries are duck fat fries. Drinks are also neatly put together. Service is impeccable. Local beers on tap, although the prices run higher.

In general, I appreciate a place that appeals to the common man. This bar does not appear to have happy hour, and while it is upscale, its location is less than ideal for an upscale evening. There is nothing around it except for the metro. I think 8407 catered to a slightly less pretentious audience, they would be incredibly successful.
