Remove the cabinet doors and drawer fronts. Remove all hardware from the cabinets, including the hinges. Use the cabinet door and drawer-front measurements and the hinge styles to buy new doors, drawer fronts and hinges.

Scrub the whole cabinet body down with trisodium phosphate (TSP) to get it very clean. Follow up by hand-sanding (with 120-grit sandpaper) all the surface areas that will be refaced. Don't sand the insides of the cabinets.

Start with the ends of the cabinets, coming out from the wall. Stick a piece of peel-and-press veneer a little bigger than the side, so it hangs over all around. Pull down the backing paper after you've secured the top and then press the rest into place. Run the edge of a board up the surface to squeeze out any air bubbles. Bella s Kitchen is somewhat of a hidden gem. I am giving 5-stars strictly on one small part of this business that I believe everyone should try: the paninis.

They make their own bread and have this huge panini press. They make kaiser-roll shaped bread that is just the right hardness on the outside while soft on the inside for these paninis.

My absolute favorite is the Argentinean. It s full of fresh spinach and the slices of chicken breast with the melted cheese makes for a mouthful of flavor. I always ask them to add the sauteed mushroom mix to it. I think the sauteed mushrooms brings the whole sandwich together and compensates a little for some dryness you might find with the chicken breast. Get it on their cheese or tomato basil bread. Kitchen Island Cart : Attach legs & shelves

Once you get all the legs drilled, you can go ahead and bolt the L-Brackets onto them tightly. I didn't think to take any pictures of this step but it is straightforward.

Next, set one of the small shelves upside-down on a work surface. Set the leg on the shelf and mark the center of the holes you'll need to drill. Be sure to choose a drill bit that is smaller than the threads on your wood screws so your sure that there will be particle board left for them to grip when you tighten everything down. Also, set the drill bit deep enough into your drill so that if you drill all the way down, it will have nearly reached the finished surface, but not have damaged it!

Wash the doors and cabinet facing of the kitchen cabinets to remove dirt and grease. Use dish soap and water. Unscrew the door by removing the hinges from both the door and cabinet using a screwdriver. Unscrew the hardware and set it aside.

Sand the door with medium-grit sandpaper to remove the finish, using an orbital sander. An orbital sander has a movement that prevents scratches when sanding wood surfaces.

Measure the height of the door. Cut two pieces of 1/2-by-3-inch board to this length with a table saw. Apply carpenter's glue to the wide side of a board. Butterfly bolts or dry wall anchors (optional)

Check levelness on horizontal and vertical sides of the cabinet by placing a level on each outer edge.

Fix misalignment or unevenness of the cabinet by loosening the screws at the back of the cabinet with a screwdriver. Squeeze in shims or small scraps of wood around the back and side of cabinet in voided areas to square or level it. Use a level several times until it shows shimming has squared the cabinet.

Check for studs in the wall to drill screws into. Improper initial installation of wall cabinets may have contributed to cabinets sagging or coming loose and finding a stud for the screws is imperative. A few weeks ago, I ordered my main kitchen sink, a 36 stainless steel farmhouse sink, from Overstock. It was around $350. It arrived horribly packaged and with a significant dent on the front panel, but otherwise functional and fine. I called Overstock for an exchange, but they were out of that sink, so they said they would refund me. No need to send the damaged sink back, they said. UPS might come take a look, might not. If UPS didn't want it, we were free to keep it after ten business days.

Well.

UPS showed no interest. So we have this awesome huge sink that has a dent on the cosmetic panel on the front. Gonna undermount that baby, hide the front panel inside the cabinet, and free huge sink!
