Kitchen Hutch - by GeneL @ LumberJocks.com ~ woodworking community This is the kitchen hutch I just finished in our kitchen. It is about 12 feet long and 7 1/2 feet high. (So it s a little hard to get pictures of the whole thing.) I have been working on this since March. The left most section is a TV/Stereo cabinet, the next two sections are display/storage and the last section is a desk for my wife. The first picture shows the whole thing. The second is mostly to show the desk. The third photo shows the combination plate rack/glass holder in the third section. This was very challenging from a design point of view (the execution was a bit taxing as well). The forth photo shows how each cabinet has slide out trays. Section two is shown, section three has two double width slide outs that hold lots of dishes. The slides are all rated at 100 lbs, but dishes add up quick. The last photo shows how the stereo cabinet open for access to the component wiring. The TV/Stereo section has a lot of electronic stuff hidden (as well as what is visible), These is a thermostatically controlled cooling system for the components, an Ethernet hub a wifi router, connections to speakers in 8 rooms and more. The hardest part of the TV section was getting the face frame on the slide out section to meet up squarely with the cabinet. gallery3.asap.armadillo.nu )Now its on to the kitchen island.
