The iTouchless kitchen trash can less

It’s hard to imagine being excited about a kitchen trash can, but the iTouchless (Model DZT13 Plus) has become one of my favorite household helpers.

The sleek, stainless-steel can has a wide black lid cover with an infrared sensor that opens the lid automatically when your hand approaches the can, and closes automatically after about 10 seconds. That means no more wet, drippy garbage hitting the lid as you open the can.

Two buttons on the front of the lid will open and close the lid manually if you need to keep the lid open longer (for example, while shelling hard-boiled eggs or peeling potatoes).

The iTouchless uses regular 13-gallon kitchen bags and operates on four “D” size batteries, which have lasted over three years so far in my kitchen. It also has a replaceable carbon filter to eliminate odors.
