Jana Lowenthal at the Kitchen Factory is a true kitchen pro.  I was doing a whole house remodel and I took my architect s initial kitchen and pantry layout to her and she made sensible aesthetic and practical changes that preserved the architect s vision while enhancing its usability (and saving me some money as well)!

From door and drawer selections to help with finishes (in my case painted) and add ons she had helpful suggestions.  The actual design process was incredibly efficient and she was great at coordinating appliance specs to make sure everything would be right the first time.  In fact, she went beyond the call of duty by contacting both the manufacturer (Thermador) and a local appliance vendor to make certain that the refrigerator door would operate as desired.

Delivery was timely and she arranged a period of free storage while the site was prepped.  She provided a referral to an excellent contractor who installed the cabinets perfectly at a fair price.  One minor error on the order was corrected quickly at no cost.

Throughout the process, Jana was highly responsive and proactive making sure that I was both kept informed and happy.  My entire experience with her couldn t have been better.

Two final observations:

- I started this review stating that Jana was a true kitchen design professional and this is important when you re planning on remodeling a kitchen.  Her experience designing hundreds, if not thousands of kitchens means she know all of the tricks of the trade - both practical and aesthetic.  While and architect may design a thing of beauty, not all have the specialist kitchen knowledge to make a kitchen work perfectly for the end user.  While a cabinet maker may offer great service as part of your general contractor s team, again, they are not (generally) kitchen design pros.  And don t get me started on the big box stores!   Nuff said

- If you are considering painted cabinetry, you will get no better paint finish than that available though one of the manufacturers Jana represents.  The real selling point to me was the ability to specify any Benjamin Moore color.  This was a  real plus - because we we all know how many whites, blacks and everything in-between are out there and no one have to settle for stock colors.

Hire Jana Lowenthal at the Kitchen Factory - you won t regret it.  In fact - I was was so happy with the kitchen cabinets I hired her again to do my master vanity with equally outstanding results.
