How to Paint Kitchen Cabinets

There are many ways to paint kitchen cabinets (I ve tried most of them over the years with varying degrees of success) but this is the way that I have found to be easiest and get the best results.

The picture above shows a base unit and wall unit in my kitchen. It was a dull and underused spot not made any better by the weird Apricot coloured laminate kitchen that I had started to paint a while back.

The paint is Annie Sloan Old White . It needs no undercoat and you just paint it straight on to the cupboards. These cupboards needed two coats and the great thing about it is that the paint goes on very quickly. It is a very easy product to use. I did most of this unit when the children were having their breakfast over about a week and when they had gone to bed for about half an hour. The unit itself is a bit chipped on the sides and one of the drawers rubs but that can be fixed with a new runner (an Easter job).
